Election Information for the Farson-Eden Community (OUR COMMUNITY)

Ballot Initiative

On the November 4th ballot, there is a decision that YOU, decide:

Do you want to build a new COMMUNITY HALL here?
The Farson-Eden Building Committee wants you to vote, “YES”!!

Why a new Hall?
*Old hall too small for our growth and current activity needs
*Septic not working and building needs new water source
*Old bathroom and downstairs areas are difficult to access
*Out-of-date kitchen needs a serious upgrade to meet needs
*If we don’t have the bond, any repairs are 100% out-of-pocket (ours), and no industry funds are available.

What will be so good about a new hall?
*Designed by an architect specifically to meet our needs from survey comments
*Seats 500, feeds 350 (better capacity)
*Offers one-level floor plan
*Easier handicap, elderly, ramp loading and unloading access
*Muti-age use
*Low maintenance costs

How will we pay to build it?

*We vote to repay a bond by a mil levy and when bond is collected, levy ends.
*95% is paid by industry
*5% is paid by landowners over a several year period
*A $4 million building costs residents just $200,000, which is divided by 300 families over 10+ years
*All residents help and renters have landlords who pay, too

 How will we maintain it?
*The Improvements Board can levy an assessment like a mil levy
*Rents will be low for our residents, while higher for out-of-area renters ( by zip)
*Assessment, rents, and donations, will pay for maintenance and operation!
*Users will help pay for up-keep, thus helping with costs

Meetings are every Tuesday at Hall, 7 PM, all welcome!!
